This work pairs with Tired Duck from Being Continuously Flattened. I wanted to work with the same motif again, but with slight variations in the objects, their positions, and the tension of the lines. The toy cart, the hanging duck, and the scattered blocks suggest a scene frozen between abandonment and worn tenderness. The ink strokes here are cleaner, almost schematic, making the fragility of accumulated memories even more visible. Both pieces stem from the same image, but like memory itself, none is exactly the same as the other.
