Quien soy

I was born in Salamanca (Spain) in 1973, where I trained as a stonecutter, sculptor, and stone restorer between 1992 and 1996. Later, I studied Art History and attended a private art academy, where I deepened my drawing and painting practice on a solid, rigorous foundation. In 2006 I moved to Berlin, where I have lived ever since and developed much of my artistic career.

My work moves between the weight of our visual roots and the freedom of contemporary experimentation. I’m not seeking empty technical perfection, but a painting that is alive, physical, direct. Drawing precision is for me a fundamental base, but it doesn’t imply rigidity: I’m more interested in a line that breathes and expresses than one that confines.

I work in both large and small formats, using a variety of techniques—oil, acrylic, pastel, ink, and digital painting—and a range of supports: canvas, paper, wood panels, or alternative materials like honeycomb cardboard. To me, the support is not a mere vehicle but an element that takes part in the work’s identity.

In my gallery you’ll find not only finished paintings but also preparatory studies, drawings, and graphic experiments. I often start from an idea or structure but let the material (color, form, texture) guide me. In that process, a humble everyday object can hold the same weight and dignity in the composition as a human figure.

Painting for me is not a choice but a necessity. Over the years I have taken part in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Spain, Germany, and Myanmar (Yangon), but I don’t believe an artist’s value is measured solely by those milestones. Passion, discipline, and confidence in what one does matter more than being inside or outside any circuit.

I’m also a father of three daughters, and during the years of the pandemic I devoted myself to caring for them. It was a difficult but precious time that taught me a lot about time, dedication, and what truly matters.

In my studio, music is an inseparable companion. I listen to everything—from classical music to punk and rock and roll. Depending on what I’m painting or what I need to feel, music helps me focus, to isolate myself from the world’s noise, to enter that state where everything flows. Punk fires me up, hurling me at the canvas with fury. Classical, on the other hand, calms me. Yet both lead me to the same place: the heart of the creative act.

I consider myself open, curious, and in constant search. I often doubt whether I’m good enough, but those doubts don’t stop me—they push me to keep going, to learn, to move forward.

That’s why I created my own online gallery: an open, direct space without intermediaries, where I share my work with complete freedom and honesty. Here you can discover not only finished paintings but also sketches, studies, diverse formats, and unique works accompanied by their certificate of authenticity. If something moves you or sparks your interest, you’re invited to take it with you.

Because in a world saturated with images, the authentic can still touch us deeply.
