This drawing is part of my still life series—a collection born from the unsettling observation of everyday objects once they lose their function. In Still Life Series 6.1, I paused on something as simple as an apple beginning to rot: a minimal, silent image where time and fragility are exposed without embellishment. I worked with Conté charcoal and pastel against an almost empty background, leaving space for the object’s solitude to become palpable. I’m not seeking to beautify these remnants; on the contrary, I want them to interrogate the viewer: what value do we assign to what we discard? What remains of us in the objects we leave behind?
