This study allowed me to explore form and gesture without committing to a closed narrative. The little angels, figures rich with symbolism, become exercises in observation and synthesis. I am interested in the tension between the recognizable and the informal, between what is held and what barely appears.
There is something almost childlike in the way they are treated, not due to a lack of control, but because of the decision not to cloak the image in solemnity. These sketches arise from the desire to experiment, to even make mistakes, but also to observe closely how a line can suggest wings, weight, or lightness.
